Kai.

My boy had a serious field accident where he got impaled on a gate. The vet performed field surgery and was told that the main muscle was cut straight through. I was completely devastated. After 3 weeks of box rest, we were able to move him, he went straight up to team Ellam. Clare put him on the Indiba machine with had some extremely high readings. I knew this was going to take a long time, will he ever be able to compete at Endurance again? The sports needs horses to be 100% in every way to do the distance at speed and pass the vet checks. I just knew I had to give this gorgeous clever boy the best chance, he was too young to retire and absolutely loves his work. He had muscle atrophy and nerve damage and was left with a huge scar. I was traumatised by the whole incident, I didn’t want him to leave, but I needed to give him the best chance possible. Clare and the team were amazing, I had daily updates reducing my need to be with him and just knew I made the right decision. he was in great hands and I could see good progress even in a short period of time. I became hopeful, would this beautiful boy not be a happy hacker and do what he loves. As I’m writing this we are training for our Endurance Competition, something I never thought would be possible. Thank you Forever grateful.

Bobby.

I would highly recommend Clare and her team. They did such an amazing job with Bobby on his rehabilitation I just can't thank them enough. Bobby came back so much happier and stronger he was a completely different horse, the care he received was second to none nothing was too much trouble. I am an extremely fussy owner especially were Bobby is concerned! 10* service and treatment,  Bobby was so chilled throughout his stay I wouldn't hesitate to send him again. Thank you all so much.

Kind words

I’ve worked with Clare and her team since 2016. Clare has extensive knowledge and experience in the management of Sport Horses, both in their fitness and rehabilitation of injuries. Clare is also a very experienced chiropractor.

I’m so excited about the development of this truly unique facility, and very proud to be working with such a fantastic team. Soon to be home to the only commercial equine swimming pool in the North West!

The care and treatment provided to each horse at Lostford Equine Rehabilitation is beyond 5*. Here you can maximise your horse's potential with the most advanced therapies available and a truly personalised approach to rehabilitation.

I sent my mare for rehab with Clare. I couldn't be happier with the results! I got regular updates, pictures and was able to go and visit.Clare even went out of her way to help me get back on after losing my confidence. Clare and her team went above and beyond and I wouldn't use anyone else right now. I highl recommend Clare to anyone that needs to send their horse away for rehab.

Our horse had been lame for 6 months with a ligament injury and on continual box rest, stressed and anxious. We never thought he would return to normal work levels but then a chance bump into Clare changed everything.

He went for 3 weeks to Lostford Equine Rehabilitation yard and received all kinds of treatments, laser, Indiba, Theraplate, massage for his whole body stiff from box rest, and lots of TLC from Clare’s wonderful staff. They brought him back into work and progressed his exercise programme.

I would highly recommend Clare’s expertise and wealth of knowledge along with her great kindness and support to us. She kept us informed of his daily progress and videos. He is now home and doing well, a happy settled boy and looking great thanks to the Radiance Gold supplement by Clare Ellam, which he started at Clare’s, he will definitely continue with it.

We wish Clare every success with her future plans for the expansion of her facilities to include her swimming lane.
